The Department of Fundamentals of Radio Engineering (FRE) is the principal education and science unit.
FRE department trains Bachelors and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Levels of Studies:
♦ Bachelor Degree (Bachelor Program);
♦ Master Degree (Master Program);
♦ Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science degrees (Doctoral Studies).
The Bachelor and Master programs, which are offered by FRED:
♦ Radio Engineering;
♦ Information Technology and Communication systems.
Term of study for Bachelor Programs is 4 years, for Masters Programs – 2 years after receiving Bachelor Degree.
The main field of science interests of FRE department is SIMULATION, COMPUTER-AIDED ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS OF RADIO CIRCUITS AND SIGNALS.
Current science research:
♦ National Instruments Technologies in Education;
♦ Methods of spatio-temporal signal processing;
♦ Systems and devices of underwater acoustic signal processing
♦ Simulation methods, algorithms and software for computer-aided analisys;
♦ Devices and systems for automatization of defectoscoping;
♦ Information approach in science about human.
The following projects were complied and all results were apply in industry:
♦ Devices of commercial television (transcoders, encoders RGB/PAL, RGB/SECAM, test signal generator, the system of TV-signal encoding);
♦ Devices for automatic telephone exchange;
♦ Control & measurement equipment (defectoscope and other devices for railroad companies and departments);
♦ Special models of complex circuits and signals for audiovisual devices and systems for building vibroacoustic descriptions of machines.
The area of science interests of the FRE department united scientists of signal and circuit theory schools.
